The TMTA Student Affiliate Publication Contest challenges students to research and write an original essay on an assigned musical topic tied to their grade level. It’s designed to build students’ writing and critical-thinking skills around music history and theory, not just performance. Winning entries at the local level move on to be judged at the state level.
